The Chief Rabbi of the Czech Lands and of Prague is Karol Ephraim Sidon.
The Rabbinate Offices are located at the Jewish Jewish Town-hall, Maiselova 18, Prague 1. The Rabbinate is responsible for the religious life of the Community. The tasks of its staff include ensuring regular religious services, both on weekdays and on holidays, for education on Judaism, for brit mila, bar mitzvah and wedding ceremonies as well as funerals. The Rabbinate also runs the mikveh and guarantees kashrut supervision of the JCP restaurant.
Order of Services:
Old-New Synagogue: Kabbalat Shabbat and Maariv services are held every Friday evening, one hour before dusk, Shacharit every Saturday morning beginning at 9 a.m. Since May till August Kabbalat Shabat and Maariv start at 8.00 p.m. Weekday Maariv starts at 7.30 p.m.
High Synagogue: Services are held at this synagogue every day. Shacharit starts at 8.30 a.m., Mincha at 2 p.m.
Jerusalem (Jubilee) Synagogue: On Saturdays and Holidays Shacharit is held from 9 a.m.
Services are held in the Old-New, High and Jerusalem Synagogues. The Old-New Synagogue is located on the corner of Maiselova and Cervena streets, the High Synagogue is found within the Community Hall (Maiselova 18, Praha 1) and the Jerusalem Synaggue in Jerusalemska str., No. 7.
