LIBRARY AND INFORMATION CENTRE

The library with a study room is situated on the 2nd floor of the building in Jáchymova 3, Prague 1.

Opening hours:

Tuesday 11:00 – 15:00

Wednesday 12:00 – 16:00

 

The library consists of approx. 5000 books. The Judaic section includes publications devoted to the history of Jews, Jewish culture and Judaism. Jewish almanacs and calendars are found here too. The three volume encyclopedia Jews of Czechoslovakia or a thirteen volume Encyclopedia Judaica as well as foreign language dictionaries and general encyclopedia may be studied in the study room only. The library is replenished continuously by new releases. A music section with 80 CD is a part of the library too.

The Library of the Jewish Community of Prague serves not only members of the community but public interested in Judaism also. The library is divided into Judaism and fiction section. Fiction may be borrowed for a month; Judaica may be used in the study room only. The library is also equipped with a PC and a copy machine.

Information Centre provides general information on activities of the community and its departments and also answers questions on Judaism.

Conference room is at disposal in the building and may be reserved at the Information Centre.
